Danby conversion to dual tap question

Wanting to convert single tap to dual tap. original tower is 2.5 inch base. looking to do 3 inch base. Does any one know how to take out the white plastic gromet that original tower screws into? any info is much appreciated . Thank you

I've seen but never handled those odd Danby collar-mounts. It sounds like you've already disassembled it,..could you take and post a pic or 2 and maybe place a ruler or measuring tape across the bolt-holes? A lot more of us readers who have dealt with tower installs and changes could provide more reliable feedback if we can see it.
