Custom made tap handels.....

Guys,
I'm having some custome made tap handels made since I have a neighbor who is into wood making.

My question is, since I do not keg yet, what should the hole size be for the connection between the tap and handel?

Some might ask why I am jumping the gun and getting custome handels made; reason is that the neighbor is a fifteen year old kid who surprisenly does kick a$$ work. I was very inpressed and figure I would jump the gun since the oppurtunity is available.
