Quick question: Can you remove the curved metal piece on a tower shank?

I'm planning on building a very small wooden tower for my diningroom liquor cabinet and want the 90 degree nipple. I found a good price on a curved tower stainless shank and a stainless shank collar. I can get any thickness wood to account for the difference between the curved part and the shank collar, just need to know if it is removable.

Thanks in advance!

On my tower those are just spacers that fit over the shank. They are completely independent pieces. BUT my shanks don't look like that so your mileage may vary. You'd be best off emailing the seller and asking them.

You can do it without any problems. The collar is chrome plated brass.

I had to modify that tower adapter to accommodate installation in a cooler. Due to the curvature of the outside for a tower I used a Dremel tool to cut off the tip of the collar and then used a file to further form the piece. It took a little doing, but that's ok as I really wanted to use the tower shank in my project. This is what I was building:

Hope this helps you.
