Im not sure if this forum is correct, but i didnt want to post in DIY just yet. I have a few old 10 gal kegs im not using. Could i convert one to a keggle? I dont plan on doing any 10gal batches, only 5-6gal...
btw, im using this picture for reference. It belongs to a member that posted in for sale.

I suppose you could, but to make the opening reasonable enough you would lose the handles on the top I bet. I'm not sure if you can or not but you could probably sell that and buy something a little more suited for a keggle conversion. My understanding is that those 10 gallon corny kegs aren't uber common...

If you were interested in selling that instead, I might be interested in picking it up from you. I would pay to have it shipped to me. Let me know.

I wouldn't ruin those kegs by turning them into keggles. They're better used as either fermenters or serving kegs. You'd be better off getting some used sanke kegs to convert. For one thing, the boil off rate will be better in a sanke due to the larger opening. For another, the keg wall thickness tends to be more in sanke kegs.

10 gallon corny kegs are also, usually, more expensive than 1/2 bbl sanke kegs. Plus, sanke kegs are easier to find.

Agree with the above ... I would hold them for fermenting/serving or trade/sell to pick up some sankes ...

As mentioned, those things are worth way more than sankey kegs or keggles made from sankeys. Not so much after you cut them apart. Sell one and use the money to buy 2-3 keggles.
