Just looking for a little input for a Red Ale, Something on the sweeter/maltier side and IBU's around 20
Ran this through Beersmith and Everything is within specs for the style, just wondering how the grains
would go together, I've done a couple extract Kits and I've got a Centennial Blonde almost ready to Bottle,

I would alter it like this:

8 lbs 2-row
4 oz Melanoidin Malt
6 oz Crystal 40
2 oz Crystal 120 or 150
2 oz Roasted Barley

E. K Goldings @ 60 min(enough to get you to low/mid 20's on the IBU's)

Mash at 150*F

Wyeast 1084 - Irish Ale Yeast

I dropped the Carapils malt, Muunich malt and the Willamette hops. Added the melanoidin malt. Cut back the crystal and roasted barley considerably.
I just brewed this recipe a couple of weeks ago and it's looking very promising so far. If you go with these changes, you will need to make adjustments according to your expected efficiency, but you knew that I am sure.

I would go for it, it is your recipe. To me it looks pretty decent. I would mash around 151-2. or higher for sweeter maltier,Light body with crystal malts doesnt seem to make sense much, to me its color, i could be wrong but when i mash low with them i get nothing of much in flavor. Got any 04 yeast? Sweeter maltier to me seems medium bodied.wich would mean mash 152-155. You could probablly cut back on the carapils to significantly.

thanks, i was actually thinking of using s04 instead, here's an altered recipe.
