id really love to hear some opinions on this, and also some advice

The main problem with maple is once the sweetness is gone, there isn't much left. I had a maple porter last week, that the brewery seemed to be very proud of. I couldn't taste or smell the maple at all. Neither could any of the 11 people we had at the Happy Hour.

At least yours won't be too bitter, but don't expect much.

Use Grade B, if you can find it. Grade A has very little flavor.
