When I was a child I used to spend summers and winters in CB. My mom and dad LOVED the red lady ale. I know this is a long shot, but i would love to brew a batch for my dad's birthday if any knows of a recipe :mug:

That's going to be a challenge to clone a discontinued beer from a one of brewery that is out of business. My one visit to CB was -30F outside and zero in the hotel room so I wasn't a happy camper, no good memories at that place.

I remember this beer. White buffalo Peace Ale was pretty good too. Bummer they don't sell them anymore.

Crested Butte is one of my absolute favorite places. Best place to ski if you like steeps!

I lived in CB for 12 years and I too enjoyed Red Lady Ale many times. Now that I'm brewing, I decided to try and look up the recipe and perhaps brew a batch for Christmas. Found your post - but also found an article in the Gunnison Times. https://www.gunnisontimes.com/news/popular-brew-makes-temporary-comeback- Evidently Irwin Brewery brewed it for a special occasion. It says "The recipe for Red Lady Ale is patented and still owned by the former owners of the Crested Butte Brewery — including Joellen Fonken" - Since it's patented, probably not a chance.
