I'm thinking of using Kent Golding hops for cream ale at 60 min. and a small amount at 20 min. With a BU of 15.

I'm wondering what Kent Golding would do for a cream ale?

The same thing it would do for any other beer, though it may stand out a bit. EKG for me gives a lightly floral, earthy flavor, but not the dirt/sod flavors I get from fuggles. I use Crystal and Mt Hood as the late hops in my cream ale. 15 IBU sounds just fine.

You're not going to taste a huge difference in hop varieties at 15 IBU with the last addition at 20. I'm not sure what BJCP says, but 15 seems low to me for the style.

Scratch that, I looked and it says 15-20. I guess I prefer more of a 'pre-prohibition' cream ale. I usually bitter to around 30 and find a nice flameout addition of mild and low alpha hops gives me a beer I enjoy more.

That's why I was thinking about KG or Saaz. Something that won't over power the cream ale.

15 to 20 BU is what I'm aiming for.

I just used EKG in an ESB that turned out great.

I vote a low AA hop, then decide what it is you want to high light in terms of flavor. I did one with NZ Pacifica that turned out nice (a little over 20IBU, but I wanted to high light the hop), next time around I'll probably go with one of the nobles, Hallertau or Liberty.

Saaz would be nice too.

I have brewed an extract and all grain recipe from my LBHS that uses Glacier, 1 oz @ 55 minutes for a 60 minute boil. Both beers turned out nice. Gives about 21 IBU.
