Crapola!

Well, I finally got my bar finished. I have three nearly 2/3rds gone kegs. IIPA has clogged dip tube. Cleared once, clogged again immediately. I'm going to rack to a carboy, clean keg, let sediment settle, then put back in keg.

Keg two has gone from being crystal clear to cloudy as hell. I don't get it, really. This was a brown ale and was crystal clear only yesterday.

Least the stout is still fine. Anyone know what gives with all this cloudy beer? Temp is the same. Moved a few kegs around, but not much and that was yesterday.

I don't keg so have no useful information (as usual) . . . . but I really like the word "crapola" - think I'll start to work it into everyday conversation.

At what temperature is it set? Is there any reason to believe it is chill haze? (I.e. it was clear yesterday because it was warm yesterday?)

I think temp is pretty constant. It is in a keezer. Bout 38-40 degrees. But thanks. Maybe it's just what I get for going from primary to keg. I only have 2 carboys so I han't benn using a 2ndRy.

It shouldn't matter if you go from primary to keg, though you will likely get more sediment on the bottom of the keg (as you've experienced).

I didn't secondary for a long time, and I still don't with wheat beers of any kind. But I do now. I've seen and tasted a lot of benefits. It's easy to do (and easy to clean!). I would recommend getting more carboys.

Out of curiosity, did you use fining agents like gelatin or isinglass or anything?

Definitely true, this happens to me every time I move a keg and it annoys the hell out of me.
