The wifey, she da bes! First she finds me a box of kegging stuff that was probably worth $200+ for $50 on Craigslist. Then, just now, she finds me an upright fridge (no freezer) as seen here. The woman bought it a year ago for $500 and has used it just to store insulin, so it's in brand new condition and never had any food in it. Gonna go pick it up tomorrow. I figure I'll move my lagering/2ndary kegs into the fridge...hell, I could probably fit a carboy AND 2 cornies in there.

word. :tank:

I have the fridgidaire version of that same exact fridge. I've seen people convert them to ten tap kegerators.
I use mine as a fermentor and it holds 4 5gal buckets plus an extra shelf to store what ever else I want. I love mine.

Got mine as a manager special at lowes for $250, how did you make out?

Well, at first she wanted $100, which I was all over...but then a friend of hers offered $200, which she gave me first refusal rights on, and I still think it's a good deal---so I pick it up tonight.

How would someone make it into a TEN tap kegerator? Can you actually fit 10 cornies in there???!!!

ohhhh... you just got POWNED by a grandma!!! That's gotta be the oldest horse trader tricks in the books!!! ;) Grats on your new fridge though. :rockin: *drool* no freezer... Mine serves as a cupboard for glassware and a few flip top bottles(in case i want to take beer with me, YAY!)

Actually she was a chick about 30 or so. I know that's the "craigslist special" to pull that crap, but if she was gonna hit me, you think she'd have hit me harder than that. $200 for a like-new $500 fridge? Still a screaming deal. I'll probably be able to get at least $75 for the chest freezer it's replacing, and $50 for the mini-fridge it's also replacing (bottles).

That's when you pull the craigslist buyer's special and show up with $150.

what size is yer chest freezer evan? I've been looking for one for awhile that I wanna put 4 kegs in. Lemme know

It'll fit two cornies plus a co2 tank and storage space for hops or whatever left over. Can't do 4 though. But I'd give it to you half price if you wanted it anyway.

O man you got duped.

Just kidding...Im just jealous that you got all that, so I had to say something mean.

Don't let it bother you that this chick was probably taking care of her diabetic mom, and that she doesn't need the fridge anymore because her mom's dead.

Don't let that bother you at all.

Sheeeeeit, you think I'd balk at benefiting from someone else's pain & misfortune? Figured you knew me better'n that!

Actually she worked for Novo Nordisk (I saw the boxes in her garage) and got laid off recently, so she's moving to Cali.

Hell, it's not like me to give in to those more-than-likely-BS "last minute offer from someone else"...that's how I practically stole all that kegging stuff from that guy for $50:

He claimed someone else offered him more, so I let it go, then several days later he came back and said that they other guy "fell through". Heheh.

But in this case, though it would have been much nicer to only pay $100, I wasn't about to take the gamble on losing this deal even for $200, as there was a chance she was being truthful, given that the craigslist ad had only been up for a couple hours when I saw it---

...especially since the wife and I were just talking about upgrading from that little chest freezer to a bigger one.
