mixed gasses often have different valves (CGA 580) than regular CO2 valves (CGA 320). CO2/argon would be a mix, not either or.

you also dont want argon in your beer. if you are going for mixed gas, aka "beer gas", its CO2 and nitrogen.

some places take exchanges, some wont. depends on the company and the quality of the tank. call them to find out.

If the test date was still good, they probably would. It also depends if they have tanks ready to swap too.
