Yesterday’s brew, which I’ve named Cosmic Grapefruit.

9lbs Maris Otter
1 lb Victory
1 lb Munich
8 oz carapils
10 oz flaked oats

1 oz Galena (60min)
1 oz Citra (12min)
1 oz Fuggle (7min)
1 oz grapefruit peel (5 min)
2 oz Amarillo (steeped 15 min at 185 deg)

I've used fresh grapefruit peel. I just peel it with a very sharp potato peeler so I get as little of the pith as I possibly can. Then all the grapefruit flesh goes in too after being whizzed a little in a blender to make the juice more available.

1 entire grapefruit (less the pith) per gallon of beer.

However the best grapefruit flavor beer I've made doesn't have any grapefruit in it. It was a single hop with just Cascade. Citra and Chinook also add a lot of grapefruit flavor when stuffed in at flameout.
