Hey All,
I recently came across two 3 gallon corny kegs. I was gonna test one today and could not get the liquid line to connect. I pulled off a liquid line plug off another keg I have and it worked fine. I got to looking at the one that came on the 3 gallon and it appears slightly different. Maybe a touch taller? Like 1/32 of an inch taller maybe? According to my LHBS website there are firestone old and new, and cornelius old and new plugs available in ball lock. Which one do I need? Any ideas? Reason I ask is cause I am gonna order it online or I would just go in there and test fit it. Thanks!

I had a similar problem when I got my 3gal kegs. I just played around with all my ball lock QDs and ended up finding one that fit. I only use my 3gs for my portable kegerator so I switched out the qd and was set... that being said my 3g posts are all different than my 5g ones, they have a little ring notched out of the bottom so they will go over the weld on the inlet/outlet.

plug = poppet valve?

best bet is to go online like to williams or northern brewer and look at the photos.

that or figure out your EXACT corny model (firestone? cornelius? cornelius II? etc) and then order the original poppet replacement.
