So today i got a used keg that had a tiny issue. It is a cornlius super champ ball lock keg and my liquid out post had a tiny pin holes under the quick disconnect o ring on the outside( verified under pressure testing and star san) So off to my parts bin (damn no liquid out posts) So off to midwest i went to buy a post and when i finally got it installed onto my keg i noticed something odd.

The question is it normal with replacement keg posts that the post does not bottom out onto the keg like the normal ones from the factory do. I have about a 1/4" gap between the bottom of the fitting and the fitting face on the keg.

It seems to work and tighten down and hold rated pressure (130)

Just curious if anyone has seen this before.

Pics available if requested...

Must be because i bought 4 ball kegs of craigslist and i had to swap all the posts around and could still only get 2 of the kegs posts to fully tighten down. One of them only tightens like half way if that. Seems pretty stupid to me that the thread pitch is not universal. Should at least have them labeled with the proper thread pitch like bolts are.

PS: Your keg is rated to 130 PSI? The side of my kegs say theyre only rated at 60.

My super champs are used soda kegs. I run mine up to rated pressure plus a bit more for hydro testing my kegs. (i test asme pressure tanks for a living) I have all super champion kegs from cornelius all that are rated for max working pressure of 130.
