Corny keg post connectors, 1/4" too small?

I picked up some post connectors for my two corny kegs ($40 for 4 connectors, feel like i got sticked) and the guy at my LHBS said it is 1/4", but my co2 regulator has a much larger hose, maybe 7/16". Do I need a new regulator? or is there some reducer I can use? The co2 regulator came with my kegerator, i figured it was standard.. Any help is appreciated.

I had the same problem. I went to Home Depot and gat two brass fittings for air line and bought a small section of gas line (not found at home depot) that was smaller to fit the 1/4 inch connector. I used one brass fitting to fit one end (barbed for larger gas line with other end female) and the other fitting was (male threaded to connect with other fitting and 1/4 inch barbed on the other end). Connect gas line to each end and you are good to go.

$40 for 4 connectors? Yeah you got screwed. You should be able to get them for about half that.

You definitely don't need a new reg. You can just get an adapter. I personally like the MFL connection. This way all you need is the FFL fitting for the size of your line.

OK thanks for the info. You can't get a gas line at home depot? would my welding shop have it (where I refill co2)?

and the guy at my LHBS was wrong, they aren't 1/4" they're more like 5/16". I think I need to start going to another shop, that guy has yet to give me everything I need even though I've stated it's my first time brewing multiple times, and i specifically ask "is this everything I need?". like giving me the keg without the connectors, thanks pal glad I can use it. /rant

HD should have air line. Your welding shop should too.
