So I need to replace the gaskets (or O-rings or whatever) on my cornies before I can put some delicious nectar in them. Are these gaskets, namely the large one that seals the lid, of a very specific make? Is it possible to get them at the local HW store or a Home Depot? I don't want to go online and pay big shipping costs and a trip to the LHBS isn't looking likely in the next few days.

Thanks for the input.

Cheers,
ranch

They are a standard size. I don't remember off the top of my head, but somebody around here will post it.

I bought all of my keg o-rings in bulk from McMaster-Carr. Here are all of the part numbers that you will need. Their shipping is pretty cheap too.

(1) Dip Tube O-Rings
5/16" ID x 1/2"OD x 3/32" width
9452K172 BunaN #109
Pkg 100/$2.24

(2) Post O-Rings
7/16" ID x 5/8" OD x 3/32" width
9452K23 BunaN #111
Pkg 100/$2.77

(3) Lid O-Rings
3 1/2" ID x 4" OD x 1/4" width
9452K218 BunaN #417
Pkg 10/$12.50

I'm not sure you'd find it at any old Lowe's, but maybe a good HW store... Don't know the size off the bat, but I'm afraid you may be limited to purchasing at a homebrew shop unless you decide to go with an online source.

As an alternative, you could just bring your lid to the store and find one with the proper major diameter and an approximate minor diameter (cross section). When used as a crush gasket, and at the lower pressures of homebrewing usage, the exact size isn't as important as it was with the higher pressure used for soda syrup.

I got my liquid/gas post o-rings and my post connetor o-rings at Lowes. Pretty standard sizes and like $2-3 for a package of 10.

No luck on the lid gasket though. I took mine with me and the guy at Lowes looked around and said..."somebody's drinking rootbeer around here?"

Man, when those gaskets soak up the soda...they don't let it go. :(

here's the complete package $3

I'm happy with these guy's so far.

I don't think you'll find it a lowe's or Home D. maybe you could at an ace hardware or you could get some rubber gasket material and make you own. Something I would not recommend. The shipping from the above was reasonable.

Plus if you need a lid O ring you probably need them for your posts and dip tubes as well.

This is the way to go!!! I saved this from one of your earlier post. I ordered these online from McMaster-Carr and had them that night, ( I live about 20 miles from there store).

yea, if you can't get them locally, i definitely recommend getting bulk o-rings at mcmaster. i recommend getting the silicone post o-rings and the double-seal o-rings for the dip tubes, the numbers can be found here (i believe this is where johnsma22 got the numbers as well):

I think I going to order a bag of 9396K24 Silicone O-Ring AS568a Dash Number 111 at $11.42 per Pack. They fit the posts & they're red, so I'll use them on the gas side. Much better than 50 cents each for red rubber.

Just an aside, if you are using a household filter for a randal or filtering, a cornie o-ring fits very well as a replacement gasket and works better than the flat gasket I got with the unit.

Hate to bump an old thread, but is there another source for bulk o-rings anyone know of?
sadly in Canada this is the response you get now:

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing complexity of United States export regulations, McMaster-Carr will only process orders from a few long-established customers in Canada. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this causes you.

Thank you,
