I'm trying to make my bottling bucket with a dip tube as described on this site. I have some extra copper hose thread adapters from another project that work perfectly.

I've seen numerous posts on this site referencing copper for removing rhino farts, as well as copper being perfectly safe for brewing. However, through google I've also found some claims that copper will turn my cider green and affect the taste. Primarily, here. Is this true, or is the book talking about long-term exposure?

You don't want to use copper with any fermented product. It's true that it's done rarely to remove H2S, but it shouldn't ever be in contact with fermented beer/wine/cider due to the risk of copper poisoning.

Even in breweries with their big copper kettles never use copper anywhere after fermentation begins.
