Cop Killer A$$hole

My sleepy little town made the national news yesterday. For all the wrong reasons. Cops responded to a 'domestic disturbance.' No more info than that .. Arguing? Fighting? Man v woman? Man v man?

City cop went alone (we are a poor town - cops often ride alone), but local University cop backed him up.

Suspect shot them both and ran. City cop DOA at local hospital and Uni cop in critical condition after surgery.

The cop killer is still on the loose .. nearly 24 hours later. The town is paralyzed and grief stricken.

I have never been in favor of the death penalty, but if apprehended, this dirt bag will face it. Maybe he will eat his gun instead or choose suicide by cop.

Those involved are the age of my kids .. even younger. 32 yr old shooter likely went to HS with two of mine. 25 yr old deceased is someone I recognize as just part of the local force. My son who works at the hospital and at the college knows both cops from after hours work they do there. It really sucks.

Seems to be a trend this year which is really unfortunate. I'm also originally from a small town where the fire department responded to a fire that a guy set at his ex-girlfriend's house. Guy ended up killing the ex-girlfriend's neighbor and the neighbor's 3 year old son. He then shot one of the firefighter's in the head before turning the gun on himself. The firefighter died days later in the hospital. Some people are just f***ed in the head.

It truly is a shame that we as a species have so little regard for the life of another. Why can't we all just have a beer, a joint and a laugh together?

At least the public is saved the cost of three hots and a cot, not to mention all the other things cons get like expensive medical care as they age, while the dirtbag spends 20-30 years with numerous appeals of his death sentence.

I read somewhere that domestic disputes are the calls that cops hate the most because they can turn into the most dangerous really quickly.

I'd like to say that these young cops were fully trained to deal with a domestic dispute, but in my heart I think they were not. And if anything lies at the feet of higher ups it will quickly be brushed aside.

I have many family members and friends who are cops, these stories make my blood boil.
