Hey all,
It's wintertime in New Zealand and keeping ales warm is annoying me so I figured it must be lager time. Put down a little 1 gallon pilsner batch and it's been super happy at 12c without too much involvement from me. I'll chuck in ice packs when it's time for lagering and should come out good.
So with the pils chugging along nicely I'm keen to put down a bigger batch. But no room in my schedule for a proper brew day for a while, so I'm looking at a Coopers lager from the supermarket plus 34/70 lager yeast that I have leftover from the Pilsner. I have a bit of Saaz leftover too which might dry-hop nicely.
Anyone tried this out? Anyone know what's actually in these cheap lager kits?
