I just bought a Coopers Homebrew Kit. Coopers sells the kit with their own fermenter made of plastic which holds approx. 6 gallons and has an spigot. The fermenter is made of heavy plastic with built in handholds and has a approx. 10" wide screw on top with a opening for a airlock. I've got a batch of Kreik fermenting right now (my first batch in this). Has anyone else used this, it seems to be easy to use and well thought out. Cleaning will be easy because of the wide opening on top.

sounds like any other 6.5 gallon food grade bucket, except most are a snap on lid, not screw top.

do NOT scratch the plastic when cleaning. scratches hold organic residue which harbors more bacteria and is harder to clean and sanitize.

other than that, yeah, buckets are great for cheap primary vessels. secondary should be glass or appropriate metal.
