Our directions say to cool wort from boiling to 80° in 15-20 min. It took us 40 min. Dont have the nifty cooling tool yet. Will it cause a provlem because it took us so long?
 
No problem.
The faster it cools and you get the yeast into it, the less chance of infection.

You'll be fine.
 
I focus on getting it below 140 F as fast as possible, then go do other things afterwards, like clean up. I usually can't get it much lower than 80 with my ground water temps here in CA so I just transfer to fermenter and get my fermentation chamber to get it down to pitching temps.

You did well cooling it down in a reasonable time. There are people on the forum who cannot get their wort that cool with wort chillers in the heat of the summer in that time.
