they were designed for hot coffee and tea, and have a cool squeeze control for the sippy-cup part. they really work, I just toss em in my backpack and have never had a leak or spill. they are double walled with a stainless interior.

they also hold carbonation well. as in overnight. and if your brew is still active, pressure build up shold be noted.

I use them with kombucha, ginger-bug, water kefir blend.

this is not a commercial, just a fact worth knowing to kitchen brewers.

Probably don't want to keep things with (albeit weak) organic acids in ANY kind of metal, but yeah, whatever. Mine leaks like a SOB, and I have to keep it upright in order to not burn myself with hot puer/stain my clothes.

I'll bet they would replace it. I've got four of them several years old and have yet to have a leak, whether carbonated or hot tea.

But who knows...assembly lines change, and not always for the best.

You are probably right about the acids. I was thinking stainless wasn't a problem.
thanks for mentioning it.

I guess I'll keep using it for drinks within an hour or so, but stop keeping acidic drinks stored in it for days.
