Hello, I have a question. I was in the Process of making a 5 gallon batch of hard cider paying close attention to making sure I did not introduce any contaminants During the process. Well midway through pouring the 5 gallons of cider the ring that connects to the cap of the gallon jug fill into the batch of cider. I just about panicked but refrained from sticking my hand in there to retrieve it. So I finished pouring cider and adding everything that was supposed to be in it And closed up the primary fermentation tank. My question is whether or not that ring is going to ruin the entire batch of cider

Should be Ok, Don't worry, cider was made for centuries without any of the modern sanitizers and chemicals we have today.
