I have made my own PBW from 42% sodium percarbonate, 28% sodium carbonate and 30% Trisodium phosphate (TSP) to clean my equipment.
I use 5 grams/liter (about 20 grams per gallon) and I dont wanna scrub my plastic items at all with anything...so I normally rinse everything off the equipment and the fermenter (left overs from previous fermentation before storing them...and so on) and on the brewing day I get out my fermenter from storage and fill it up with water and put my homemade PBW. Then all the small items that I use during the brewing.
My question is: do you guys think my home-made formula gives enough cleaning power to leave the bucket (packed with the small brewing items too such as tubing) filled up with water+PBW and leave it over night or just for 4-5 hours and then just rinse it out, then sanitize it with iodine and use it?
So basically...
-I'd like to know the contact time of my PBW
-and if you guys think it is powerful enough with this formula.
Thanks
