Connector for beer line help needed

Hi everyone,

First of all I apologize if my request has already been posted or if I'm posting on the wrong forum but I'm new to both homebrewing and this forum ....

I've been offered a used ceramic beer tower with a built in beer line quite short and diameter wise oversized for homebrew. The end of the line is a female treaded connector with a roughly 13.5 mm / .530" diameter. I've got a 6 feet 3/16 ID 5/16 OD beer line but I c've got now idea which connector is needed to connect the tube to the existing connector. I took a picture of the connector and the beer tower in the attachments.

That looks like some form of john guest fitting. It the line to the tap a hard opaque plastic?

I would think that there is a seam on top of that tower where it comes apart. maybe something to do with the silver decorative piece on top. That may be a nut that comes off allowing you access to the back of the shank. If that is the case you could just swap out that line for standard beer line.

Looks like a JG fitting for the beer line that would screw onto a keg coupler...

Thanks for the replies, I checked and the connector has indeed the JG fitting logo. We are making progress

I tried to took apart the tower but the beer line goes straight to the faucet by a metallic tube that I could not take apart, attached a picture.

I tried to fit a male barb from a regulator but the tread diameter was too small, I remember reading that the keg coupler thread was 7/8", is that right ? I would need a 7/8" inch male thread to 1/4" barb adapter.

you should be able to push the hose into the fitting while depressing the darker gray ring around the hose. this would let you take the john guest fitting off. You could then take it to your local homebrew store or hardware store and try to piece out the right thread size so you know what to look for.

I would think there is some way to get that off the faucet itself and just replace it with standard beer line but I can't see how the shank and faucet mate to know if that is the case.
