Mexican lager, tastes fine, 2.5 weeks in the primary at 53 degrees...2.5 days at 68 diacetyl rest. OG 1.051...FG 1.010.

Went to harvest...I get this.

Only thing i can think of is I dropped to 45 degrees prior to harvesting...have since raised it up again but still clogged.

Any suggestions, I can rack it BTW, the racking port is not clogged.

I'd go ahead and rack. Then swirl what beer is left to break up the yeast and then try dumping. If that doesn't do it try a sanitized spoon handle to break it up

Would you save the yeast?

Do you have a way to apply CO2 and put 5psi or something on your conical? Might blow it out.

I had this happen to mine a few times if I didnt do a quick dump a few days into the ferment. What I did was sanitize a stainless steel chopstick I have and just stick it up and swirl it around. Be prepared to make a mess, put a bucket under there. You'll still be able to save some yeast.

Some yeasts like to turn to cement. My house lager yeast is one of em. Between those and the excessively hoppy, I'd never be able to dump/harvest without putting em under pressure. Spunding helps.
