Hello Homebrewers,
I'm getting back into the hobby, and recently got a Spike system with a new shiny CF5 conical fermentor. I have very little experience with conicals and was looking for everyones cleaning/sanitation best practices prior to adding wort and pitching yeast. I brewed yesterday, and while the brew was going, I had all pieces and parts sitting in sanitizing solution. 30 minutes till the boil was complete, I assembled the conical, Sprayed the interior with Star San and cycled valves to make sure everything was covered, and then buttoned it up. I only opened it back up to add the wort when cooled, and wrapped the top with a Star San soaked paper towel. Any other best practices tht other have learned over time that would aid in no spoilage? Appreciate the help.
