I'm running a 240 outlet for an induction cook top. I pulled 12/3 (4 conductors), got my single outlet (6-20), a metal box and 20 amp breaker.

My question - the outlet has 2 hots and a ground. Red/Black for hot. The bare is my ground, right? Would I use the white neutral to bond the metal outlet box back to the panel?

I have a GFCI breaker on order and I'll be installing it before any liquid gets involved.

Thanks

OK, guys, thanks. So the answer is cap it off.

And, yes, the idea of the 12/3 was against future needs.
