I have several 3 gal Better Bottles I bought SWMBO years ago for making fruit wines that she did just once so I’ve adopted them for making mead. It’s too messy and difficult to work with mead kits so I bought a hydromel kit from MoreBeer along with tartaric acid.
Running the numbers through a calculator shows it would be 9.something % (6 lbs of honey) and will just add another pound or so. Since I’m not exactly following the directions will I need to adjust the Go-Ferm (10 grams) or Potassium Carbonate (5 grams) from the initial creation, or the Fermaid K (4 grams) or DAP (7.5 grams) within 48 hrs?
