i saw an AG recipe i liked and modified it for extract. not sure if i have done this right or not, but in the end I am looking for a 2xipa. I like citra, though the only time i have ever used it so far is to add an ounce in the last 10 min if a crem ale recipe ( turned out great btw !)

anyway, i put this in a trial copy of beersmith and this is what I got. 5gal batch. only thing i may add is some corn sugar ( a pound ? ) to keep the mouthfeel dry, which i heard on a podcast yesterday.

should I change this any ? what am i looking at ?

Take my advice with a grain of salt because I like dry, hop-dominant IPAs. I'd replace the crystal 10 with something darker, so that you can cut it back. Maybe like .5lb of crystal 40...adjust the amount to the SRM you want. I would also cut the honey malt down to no more than .25 lb. That stuff easily overpowers and oversweetens your beer.

Hops look pretty good. If it were me, I would move the 30 min addition to 0 min. and increase each addition by about 50%, but then I kind of go for broke when I hop my IPAs.

Also, are you making a starter? 1.080 might be kinda high for one vial of 001.

Yes will be making a starter. Have never made one before, but if I remember correctly all I need is a container and. Half cup of DME.. Will research again. Thanks for your comments. I went with the 10L because I thought ot would keep the color lighter. Maybe I'll sapling the difference and come in between 10L and 40L ?
Will def use less honey. Was looking for a bit of something else besides just the hops burst, but I know these are supposed to be on the dry side, so I will go with .25 as you suggest . Thanks !

10L will definitely keep the color lighter but it's still a crystal malt, so it will add some sweetness. Combined with the honey malt, you just might want to be careful.

Starters are super easy, there's a ton of good advice available around here, so if you read up a bit you should be all set.
