Thanks to all who replied to my Keezer thread. All things considered, I think I'm leaning toward a Collar, rather than a tower, for this fridge...

I know there's a dizzying array of threads out there, and I have scanned through many, but does anyone know of step-by-step plans for building a collar? (I'm no carpenter, but I can follow instructions.) One catch... it has to be 'furniture quality' (i.e. not ugly) because it's going in the wife's dining room. (Might be painting the freezer itself too.)

No sooner had I posted, when I ran across this collar build thread...

Anyone know if there's any reason the collar couldn't be attached to the body of the fridge, with the lid hinged onto the collar? That way the lines wouldn't have to be disturbed when opening and the fridge could be closer to the wall.

mine is attached to he body with silicone...it was easier than worrying about lifting a 2x10 collar with the stock hinges...the only downside is lifting full kegs 10 inches higher than the height of the fridge takes a little muscle...that and its really difficult to reach the bottom to clean up any spillage or condensation...all in all I'm happy with my collar attached to the freezer.

How did you attach the collar to the body? Liquid Nails?

I used liquid nails to hold it secure and then sealed the connection between collar and freezer with silicone. collar isn't going anywhere.
