So I'm going to build a collar for my 7.1 cu ft ge chest freezer and was wondering if anyone had any helpful advice regarding fitting, measuring, cutting, or sizing the collar to seat nicely on my chest freezer. Also what are everyone's thoughts about using insulation or silicon calk on the interior to help hold the temp? Thanks!

Not the same size, but the principle should hold. For mine I just butted the sides together and screwed straight in. I adhered it to the base with window caulk and sealed the joints with the same. Mine is also a full keezer, so my collar is not exposed. If you are just having a collar, you can put a 1 by board around it as a veneer and do some nice mitered cuts or something to make it look pretty.
