Why would the airlock on my cold crashed beer be bubbling away at 36 degrees? I've never had one do that.

"s" type or 3 piece? your prolly seeing it create a vacuum pulling air in when it cools..

It is probably pulling a vacuum into the fermenter because of the change in temp. Not a huge deal. I usually use one of the double bubble air locks when I cold crash. Less likely the liquid in the airlock will get pulled in

Three piece. Been cold crashing for years and never seen that happen. Thought maybe it was the pressure change when I opened the frig.

I put vodka in my airlock for that reason.
