I know you should cold crash after primary but would cold crashing after it has already been bottled or put in a Tap A Draft bottle help clear my beer or offer any benifit. I currently chill my TAD overnight before tapping but would longer be be of any benefit? My fridge isn't big enough to hold my fermenter.

Thanks, Jeff

No you definitely should not cold crash after bottling. They need to carbonate, and that means the yeasties in each bottle going to town on the priming sugar you added at bottling time. They need to be at a proper temperature to get this done in a reasonable time. The general recommendation is 3 weeks minumum at 70*F. By that time everything will have settled to the bottom of your bottle anyway.

Hope that helps!

I have the same lack of fridge problem. My version of crashing is to let the bottles sit for 3 weeks in the basement, then throw a bunch into the fridge for another week or two before consuming. Takes a little patience but it's not like you can't pop a few now and again to see how things are tasting/looking.
