anybody else get irritated when you swap a 20lb tank, and when you get home find out it only has 13lb's in it? i think from now on i'm bringing my scale with me......i've gotten some with 18lb's, never 20....this has to be the worst one yet!

actually, i had someone else carry and strap it down in their truck for me.....but even that the case, unless i weighed my tanks, i wouldn't have known....with a TW stamp of 33.4lb's, hard to really tell the difference....

but anyway i'm not kidding next swap i'm bringing a scale! i bet none will be full but i can do better then 13lb's.....!! :mug:

That's what I feared, a steel tank is deceivingly heavy compared to the contents. 46 vs. 53 pounds is not enough difference for hand weighing.

Rip-offs... They fill by weight on a scale, so someone wasn't paying attention.
Are you gonna call them?

Yup, make a (mental or written) note to bring a scale in the future!

check, and check......you are my written reminder, just thought i'd tell other people probably good idea to do it too! (to add insult to injury, they had a Mr. Beer Pint glass for tips with a couple bucks in it at the counter)

edit: and apparently unlike when i worked in the grocery deli, the welding shops don't have weight's and measures spot checking their stuff.....

Moreover, if you want to lose 7 pounds of gas, we're all perfectly capable of doing it ourselves, intentionally or unintentionally. I once did at our campout, had forgotten to wrench-tighten one of the flare nuts. Beer was involved.
:bott:

Some good soul had already closed the valve when I noticed the heavily frosted-over tank...
