I had a CO2 splitter. one line to eight lines ...I cut that in half and have two converters from one line to four. I used a band saw to separate. now I need to know what tap I use for the threads and what diameter drill bit do I use to pre-drill the pilot hole with?

Also, I murphed one of the threaded opening and want to plug the hole (if possible). another option will be to cut the murphed portion off and re-tap and drill.

These splitters: "4-Way-Gas-Line-Splitter-with-Shut-Off-Valves" is basically what I am making can find at . Or in the case of the murphed one I will only have five openings (instead of six).

I am making a Keezer (and am so new to beer brewing that I have only brewed 50 gallons ~6 batches all IPA or IPA variants). But I know what I like...I like beer. So I need this. I will post photos of my keezer as it develops.

You have to give us the size of the hole you want tapped, ( that's what she said)
it's most likely going to be pipe tap. Depending on the size probably 1/8 or 1/4Npt

that depends on what you want to screw into it. if you want a 1/4" NPT to hose barb, theres your answer. in that case you want a 7/16" drill bit.

google "tap drillbit chart"

the attached image (hope that works) shows what I started out with and this link shows that extruded material and fittings: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=co2+...5&tbnw=145&start=0&ndsp=23&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0

I think they are the 1/4 NPT...I will look up in the "tap drill bit chart"

thanks all. I found a 2" thick maple chop block for my keezer "bar top". still need to take more pics. the tap tower holds ten taps and my keezer only holds four corny's so I am cutting it into two four tap towers...the reason for two four way CO2 splitters.

I guess it depends on what the interior of those manifold blocks look like, or I should say what the cross section looks like on the cut end. If it's round, measure it. If it's close to 1/2", it would be tapped to 1/4" NPT which is like .54" OD threads. 3/8" actual is closer to 1/8" NPT.

So, I have made progress with the build. I thought I would have to wait for my tax return to wrap it up. Had my buddy weld me up a nice base out of angle iron to make it portable and more stable. I got a butcher block from IKEA and mounted it to the, already existing, freezer door hinges. used a double layer of weather stripping to get the lid to sit at the right height. probably gonna to a double seal to ensure a good seal. Working on placement of four tap tower. still trying to find a 1/4 NPT tap though....:D

I am going to run all the lines tonight. I am doing a check for condensation on lid today...will check later tonight to see if i need to add any foam to the bottom side of the butcher block. without this site I never would have figured this out for myself:tank:

also I need to figure out how I am going to circulate cool air into the tower...thinking CPU fan and shop vac hose...power becomes a slight issue as I need the components to be internal...will research what to do here on this site. going to keg my second beer tonight and force carb it tomorrow for drinking during brew day. Looks like I will be brewing a super simple Irish Red (gonna dry hop it like a madman). Read about pitching more yeast to accelerate ferment process and will try that with this batch as I have brewed it four times the exact same way I am curious to see if there are different tastes that will come through.

any how...thanks all!!! this site is my fortress of solitude at work! :cross:
