CO2 regulator issue

I have a setup with a primary and a secondary regulator. One of my regulators keeps spiking to over 100 PSI no matter what I set it to? Is this a bad regulator? Could there be other causes?

Take the regulator body apart, there's a needle valve assembly underneath the diaphragm and there may be some debris in there or if you had a beer backflow into it at some point it can be all sticky.

Any idea how to get a Komos/Kegland regulator to come apart without breaking it? It almost feels like they epoxyed the threads.

It's not uncommon to use gasket sealant on the bottom diaphragm edge so it seals tight to the body. Sometimes it squishes out and gets in the bonnet threads. Might try warming it up with a hair dryer, maybe it'll loosen its grip.

btw, can you get rebuild parts for Komos regulators in the USA? Morebeer only lists a Taprite kit...
