CO2 line help

Hey all,
I'm new to kegging, and trying to set up my co2-manifold, but I'm having a hard time getting the hose onto the barbed end on the manifold. Anybody have any tips to make this easier? Or a link to a thread with tips? I searched around a bit, but maybe I'm not searching the right terms.

heat up a little water in the microwave and put the end of the hose in the hot water for a minute to get softer.

Dunk it into boiling water, stretch it over and then clamp it.

That is assuming you're talking about 3/16 beer line and 1/4" barbs...

He mentioned co2 line could be 5/16 barb.
