I definitely see where my flame out routine needs some help. I generally kill the flame and turn the pump on with the valves open and try to create a whirl pool with the pump. Not going to happen and clogs up my chiller. I think with all the good advice I got from this thread I should be able to fix my problem.
Thanks for the help!

At flameout (NOT 15mins, boiling whirlfloc denatures it), add your whirlfloc

It also sanitizes it.

Everything I've ever read about both Irish moss and Whirlfloc says to add it in the last 10-15 minutes of the boil. This is the first I've ever heard anything about "denaturing" Whirlfloc, and to instead add it at flameout.

Do you have any reference for the suggestion that Whirlfloc will "denature" and become ineffective if it's boiled?

If you follow the flameout routine I posted, your kettle will rest for 20 to 40 minutes plus transfer time. There's no need to worry about sanitizing whirlfloc, or almost anything you put into your kettle when it is above 180 degrees. The heat will take care of it pretty fast.

WHIRLfloc is most effective in the WHIRLpool. Since most homebrewers don't whirlpool, I think the practice of adding it to the boil became common as a way to get the whirlfloc to mix, making it somewhat effective (but not nearly as much so as adding at the end of the boil/whirlpool)
