Putting together my first Kegco kegerator conversion kit. I ordered it new but want to clean it prior to hooking it all up. I also purchased the Kegworks no-rinse beverage cleaning system. Obviously the CO2 lines are good to hook right up, but how did you guys clean your system when you first received it? I am thinking about making a mixture in a Home Depot 5 gallon bucket and throwing the shanks, faucet, beer lines in there. What are your guys thoughts and it wouldn't hurt the shanks would it? TIA

I just upgraded several parts of my system including 3 new shanks, 3 tailpieces, 3 beverage lines, and one new faucet. I soaked the faucet in BLC and then sanitized. I totally gapped cleaning the other parts. The beer still comes out tasting like beer. After the keg(s) foam I will send some cleaner and sanitizer through them... or that's what I say now...I'll probably forget.

In your case I would do what you're considering. Sounds like a solid plan.

I stick my stuff in BLC every once in a while. When cleaning my system I just run BLC through the system. Real simple and easy.
