Short notice but I'll be in Cincinnati tomorrow night, anyone have recommendations on breweries to hit up? I noticed there's a "Brewery Collaboration Beer Draft" at Rhinegeist, anyone know anything about that? Thanks in advance!

It's something to do with Cincy Beer Week. It used to be that all the local breweries would do a collaboration beer each year. Since more and more breweries started opening, they decided to split into groups. Each group made a collab, and they're doing the draft event to determine which one goes into wider production. Or something like that.

As far as other places to go, Rhinegeist and Christian Moerlein are only a few blocks apart (albeit in one of the sh!ttier parts of town). Madtree is one of my favorites. If you're into sours, try Rivertown.

On the KY side of the river, Braxton is worth checking out. Or visit the Party Source...they have a taproom (Ei8ht Ball) in the back that also does a rare keg tapping on Mondays.

Thanks for the quick response drain. I'm staying at a hotel that looks to be on teh east side of 71 just northwest of Eden Park (I've never been to Cincinnati before, just basing it off Google maps) and it reports to be about a 1.5 mile walk from there to Rhinegeist. Is the neighborhood bad enough to recommend against walking it?

In the daytime...probably not a problem. I've walked from Fountain Square up into Over the Rhine before for events like Bockfest and not had any issues. After dark, I'd advise against it.

If you take an Uber to Rhinegeist you'll be fine or if you drive just use common sense and don't leave anything in your car. Spent a lot of time down there at all hours, just don't venture around the side streets. It's a Monday so be sure to check the hours around town. Look up Party Source across the river in KY. A must if you're in Cinci. Their beer selection is amazing

Look into Madtree and Listermanns. Listermanns is a brewery and home brew shop in one. Grab a beer and look around the store.
