Hard cider is pretty easy. Cider/juice + yeast + time and you got it. Wine yeast is a good choice, makes a dry cider. There are other threads about sweetening, carbonating, and bottling when you get there.

You should be good. I prefer ale yeast for my cider. Nottingham or moutons yeast.
