I started a batch of cider this weekend with apple juice and champagne yeast. It has been about 72 hours and there is NO activity in the carboy or airlock.

Full disclosure, there is a crack in my lid to my carboy. Could that cause the issue?

What do I do now? Wait? Add more yeast? Cry?

Please help!

A crack in the lid means that you should trust the airlock as a sign of fermentation even less than usual. Since you have a crack, disregard the airlock completely. What temp is it at? What were the ingredients in your juice?

Check if the juice had preservatives?
