This may be a dumb question but I made up a german wheat last night and looking at it today and there are particles flying around the carboy in the brew. is this normal?? (ive been brewing w/mr beer). :drunk:

The last batch I did looked like the wort was boiling in the primary. That yeast was really going to town!!

What you see is normal. That's why I ferment in buckets. It's a little like watching sausage (or the law) being made. I'd rather not see it.

I think that this is the reason you should ferment in glass. You can see what's going on and it's more sanitary.

I like to see the fermentation taking place, I like to see how much krausen I've got left determining when it's time to rack. It doesn't always happen in 7 days.

I especially like to see how my beer is clearing.

I'm currently cold conditioning my Kolsch in a corny and it's killing me to not be able to look at it and see how it's progressing.

Oh and I make my own sausage too. :D
