After downing a couple pitchers at the local pub, the wife and I stop by the pet store on the way home... we now own a chinchilla. Anyone else have one? She's been a lot of fun so far (the chinchilla)... seems pretty smart, likes to be held, and a pretty cute lil rodent.

You need two!!!!!!

They live for ever, or so I hear, so be ready for a long time commitment unless of course you go with Orfy's suggestion.

Yeah, they're definitely good jumpers... and I hear 15 to 20 year lifespan.

SWMBO & I had Degus for several years in the late 90s. They are a close relative of the chin and have lots of the same traits. They were very cool but difficult to sex and we ended up with 18 at one point!!!

Wasn't that the thing from StarTrek that ate all the Triticale?

Oh wait that was Tribbles, my bad. :D

ahahahahahahahaha!

I was dying when I read that.

They're very cute. I'd take a few if I wasn't so lazy.
