I'm hoping to find a recipe for the dark beer served at Bergoff's in Chicago circa 1970. My mother is a former windy city native and still talks about the dark beer she used to get at Bergoff's. I know that Bergoff's has revamped it's beer offerings completely at least twice since then. I don't even know what style of dark beer it was. I would like to brew something close to Bergoff's "dark beer" for her. I'm an extract /partial mash brewer at this point. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
