chest freezer on carpet?

I have 2 sanyos and soon to have a 16cu ft. chest freezer(on CL for $75!). Can these be put on carpet, or do they need a piece of ply wood or something under them?

cool...thanks for the reassurance. Does the same go for the 4912's? seems like the compressor would be essentially resting on the carpet. Would it cause it to get too hot?

The condenser tubing in the 4912 is embedded in the insulation in the walls of the fridge and the compressor is cooled by the cold returning refrigerant vapor. So no, nothing will overheat by the fridge being placed on a rug.
