Well, I now have my first batch under my belt! An AG Trappist recipe. I decided to jump right in to AG as the science of it fascinated me. It's been bottled and conditioning for almost three weeks. I, of course, have been sampling every couple days. Not great, but by no means undrinkable. Slight solventy flavor (I think I pitched a little too warm).

On to my next batch next week. A SMaSH. Hopefully will iron out some of the mistakes I made on my first. Thanks for all the knowledge represented here. I've been creeping this forum for a while and decided its time to join. Cheers!

Welcome to the board. That had to have been nerve wracking to start with an AG Batch!
Haha! Yes it was! But I did a lot of research (though, I found out quickly there is much more to do!), and I had a "lifeline" who was just a phone call away. It was so much fun. I'm glad I did it this way.
