Hey folks,
First, I want to say "Cheers!" to everyone on these boards. I've been reading for several months now, and the thoughts and experiences shared have been very valuable. :mug:

By reading the beginner forum for a while, I got the encouragement to try an extract kit (Northern Brown Ale, came out pretty good). I did a total of three kits last year, and with more help from these boards I converted a 10 gal cooler mash/lauter tun. I've made two all-grain 5-gal batches since Jan 1, and planning another batch soon.

The science aspect of the hobby fascinates me, and of course the drinking part is fantastic too. :cross: I've read a bit of literature (Papazian, Palmer, Daniels, Miller, etc.), and these boards really help it sink in and connect the dots. So, cheers to you, and thanks for helping this homebrewer get started!

Welcome to the Forum, it is a great place to find endless information. I also know that there are a lot of homebrewers in your area as I grew up in Cary and went to NCSU for school.

Thanks folks.

Welcome! There is a great homebrewing and craft brewing scene in the Raleigh area.

Not only that, but I just found a homebrew shop about 5 minutes from my office in RTP. Guess who's getting some ingredients on the way home!

Durham, checking in!

Welcome to the forum. Bull City Homebrew is a great source for supplies and help (great grain and yeast pricing too).

Enjoy the beer! :)
