Changing gas inlet fittings on a manifold -- what are the thread specs?

Thanks in advance for help with these remedial questions.

I have a Kegland CO2 manifold and I want to change the inlet from the stock 5/16" barb to something that is compatible with 9.5 mm EVABarrier gas tubing.

This is the part I want to replace. If I measure the exposed threads, I get 0.54".

This would be an acceptable sort of replacement, though I don't actually need the valve.

I could also replace it with a male flare plus a flare to DuoTight fitting.

But it all comes down to this... What kind of threads do I need to start with, on the manifold? Kegland doesn't have that info anywhere, probably because no one other than me is stupid enough not to know by looking at it!
 
It's most likely 1/4" NPT.

FYI, BSP is also taper thread and would use thread sealant. BSPP is "parallel" and would use orings/gaskets. BSPP is kind of like NPS while BSP is like NPT.
No, BSP (British Standard Pipe) with just the three letters is understood to be parallel, much like NPT thread is understood to be tapered. BSPP is parallel and BSPT is tapered. Beer shanks in Europe are listed as 5/8" BSP thread, and shanks are straight not tapered.
 
That would be NPT then.

1/4" BSP spec is 0.0518"
1/4" NPT spec is 0.054"

I realized I made a dumb mistake in my first post... I wrote Kegland, but it's actually a Keg Connection manifold! Duh. Sorry for the BSP red herring.

I asked Keg Connection and they said "1/4 male flare threading" which did not exactly make sense to me, but it looks like it all adds up to 1/4" NPT.

Keg Connection currently recommends using both teflon tape and Tru-Blu. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
 
Lol! I occasionally wear a belt and suspenders when I'm outside working in the yard, but that's never been necessary to seal a threaded gas fitting :)

which is the 1/4" male flare.
 
My EVABarrier and DuoTight stuff arrived today, and as y'all promised, I found it easy enough to jam the EVABarrier over the manifold inlet barb. I guess I didn't need to figure out that inlet fitting after all. Thanks again for the help, things ended up great.

No bubbles! For the MFL connectors on the manifold side, I just put on 3 wraps of Teflon tape.

I like DuoTight so far except for the Kegland beer QDs... They are so tight you need to use pliers to stuff the tubing into the fitting. At least you only need to do that once. If this manifold/beer upgrade works out I'll probably try the inline regulators and other toys too.
 
I discovered that too, but even with lube these particular fittings are an absolute bear. Strangely the gas versions are much easier. (And the grey tees, couplers etc are easier still.)

Indeed.

The one I received is very, very hard to insert the tube (even with lube) and 2x harder than that to remove it. Frankly, such that I probably won't ever try using it again and in my opinion is defective.
